In light of the tragedy at the Pulse, In Orlando, Florida last night my
heart has been heavy with the sense of the loss being experienced by those of
the fifty people savagely murdered by Omar Mateen. Isis alliances or not, this is as
heavy blow to American freedoms as any other hate crime. My love and heart is
with those who have lost some one in this tragedy.
My heart is with those who survived also; the injury’s run deeper than the flesh wounds inflicted. I can’t image the depth of physiological pain and confusion being experienced at this time, and I pray you make a full recovery. In honor to those who's lives were cut short, those who survived and directly affected by this act of terror, I wrote the following Poem.
Life is like an hour glass
Two parts are ever present
The top is the full of the future
The bottom collects the past.
In a single moment the future and the past
Unite
In the present
The sands of time fall gently
The energy of mankind
Each grain single, although
gathered
Full of future potential
Preparing to pass from the future to the past
Unique
Through the present
The present is very narrow
The future awaits its time.
Slowly moving to existence
Towards the present, to enter though in a flash
Blinking
Out the present
The energy has been spent
The potential has been spent
Yet the grain has left its mark scratched
On its way through the present
Leaving impressions that will withstand tests of time
Etching
Through the present
Life is like an hour glass
Two parts are ever present
The top is the full of the future
The bottom collects the past.
In a single moment life is carved on our hearts
For time…
Eternity
