Tribute to Robin Williams

I believe that true loss is the one found in a passing that is far too soon. It's when truly beautiful people find peace in a way that devastates all those left to mourn. You sir made me laugh, you made me cry, you picked me up when I was low. You excited me and made me giddy as you helped shape my young mind. I played you in my own crazy antics, I mimicked you in fast paced stupidity. You challenged me when you became serious, and left me wanting more and more. Robin sir, I want more now and you are gone. I know I will have you in the immortal legacy that you have left behind through your body of work and for that I am grateful. I will enjoy sharing those with my own children and continue the heritage of laughter that you have given to me. But I will  honor your premature passing not only by returning to those tributes; I will honor you by living and laughing.

You helped create my sense  humor, from my over dramatic actions to my fast paced wit. You gave me confidence in my  young, and not so young, awkwardness. So now I will repay your kindness every time I meet strangers on the street who look like they are in need of a good laugh. I will draw your spirit close to me when in the presence of the needy, and endeavor to leave them smiling.

I'm sorry I couldn't be there to  lift you up, to repay the debt of happiness that you so dearly deserved. I'm sorry I wasn't around to jump into your life and deliver a riot of hilarity in your time of need.   Its to late now, so I will not mourn you through sadness; I will look at your demise as a martyrdom. That, which you fought your whole life, finally sent the mob to claim you. I will spread your teachings, of living life to the fullest and laughing mightily. I will fearlessly carry on the fight against the sadness that endeavors to claims others. I can truly say that although our personal lives never intersected and we passed through life as strangers, you are truly my brother and I hope that now you can enjoy the peace and tranquility that is only found on other side, where I know, you are there making your fellow spirits laugh.

Good point. We were not there to lift him up in his time of need. Some people just need an audience. We were there when he needed an audience.
