In the valley so deep

When my oldest was a baby she cried every time we put her in the bath...or on car rides. The only thing that calmed her down was singing; while in the bath I wrote this lullaby. I liked how my voice echoed off the sides of the tub as I sang it deep and slow. Eventually I wrote it into an actual lullaby which I sang to my kids every night, at the requested of my son; even my little ones now love to hear me sing it. I wrote it hoping it would put them to sleep and it worked so if you start feeling sleepy as you read, thats why. (In the audio clip I only sing one verse so you can get the gist.)

In the valley so deep, my babies sleep
They sleep so deep by the river of dreams
The mountains tall, cast shadows long
While the lazy sun just pokes along
And there they sleep on a pillow of grass
With a lullaby of water thats murmuring past
And as they sleep they dream so sweet
My only hope is they're dreaming of me
My only hope is they're dreaming of me
My only hope is they're dreaming of me

In the valley so deep, my babies sleep
They sleep so deep in the field of dreams
The hills they roll, and grasses sway
Looks like an ocean, when the winds play
And their they sleep with a blanket of sunshine
With the soft lull of breezes, that smell so divine
And as they sleep they dream so sweet
My only wish is they're dreaming of me
My only wish is they're dreaming of me
My only wish is they're dreaming of me

In the valley so deep, my babies sleep
The sleep so deep by the forest of dreams
The trees grow tall, making roofs so high
Birds singing gayly as they're swooping by
And there they sleep in a bed of foliage
With a song of love sung by a partridge
And as they sleep they dream so sweet
My only prayer is they're dreaming of me
My only prayer is they're dreaming of me
My only prayer is they're dreaming of me
