The Dusty Plain

Along the dusty plain
The cactus grows up tall
Mesquite trees dot the lane
Dust storms make a wall
The sun rides the heat stroke rail
Licking up all lonely water
The lizard basks its tail
While the ground only gets hotter
This deserts full of life
Where dryness takes the blame
Can you pay the price?
To live on the dusty plain.
